Hi,

Well, whew, up and open, he says, standing just a little taller and beginning to smile. Thanks to all of you who helped make our opening week such a success. We’re back, aren’t we.

This weeks soup is one of my favorites to eat. As a long-time believer that “what is harvested now is the nourishment our bodies need now”, this

Spring Tonic Soup

is hard to beat. Starting with a vegetable stock and ending with a pesto made from arugula and Osaka Purple mustard, this is health in a bowl.

I also believe you can’t beat the two specials we opened with last week, so we’re not even going to try. Once again we feature

Salmon Oscar

which is roast salmon topped with asparagus and crab meat with a light mustard-Parmesan glaze, as well as

Soft Shell Crabs with Lime Butter Sauce.

Tonight, Thursday, is Prime Rib Night, Friday we offer half-price bottles of wine, psst, try the Pinot Noir, and Sunday, as I hope all of you know, is Mother’s Day, when once again we take the point of view, “Don’t take your Mother out for lunch THEN make her cook dinner for you. We will open on Sunday at 5 as usual.

On the local front, Saturday begins a three week run of the Westmoreland Players new show, ‘Inherit the Wind‘. For tickets call the box office at 529-9345 or on the web at www.westmorelandplayers.org.

Looks like a beautiful week-end coming our way,

We hope to see you.
