Hi,

We’ll start with some changes. As you have been reading the past couple of weeks, we have added Monday nights to our schedule. And as you know, we are testing your interest in having sandwiches and other lighter fare available at Good Eats with a concept tweak we are calling “Casual Cafe”. I have linked a copy (Microsoft Word format) of last Mondays menu to give you an idea of what we are doing. When you look at it you will see that our Crabcake sandwich comes on toasted beer bread. If you remember a couple weeks ago I was asking for feedback on your favorite bread with a crab sand. Of the replies (thank you all very much) the one that really caught my chefs eye came from Mike Barrett of Fredericksburg who suggested the beer bread. Honestly I had never heard of this before, but with a couple of exchanges Mike had me pointed in the right direction, and a few baking tests later, do we ever have a pleasant surprise for you. A genuinely excellent crab sand, not the usual bread sandwich one finds smothering a crabcake. Thanks again Mike.

Next change – our policy on reservations is now “Groups of 6 or larger.” Used to be 8, now its 6. Hope this helps.

We have moved into the early summer part of our season. Lots of good things are coming from the earth now and we celebrate them with this weeks soup

Northern Neck Minestrone

Our specials will be

Fennel-crusted Salmon in Thai Red Curry Sauce
&
Soft-shell Crabs with Lime Butter Sauce

Thank you so much and,

We hope to see you.
