Lest I forget again, like last week, lets make the first order of business here the blueberry pie. Yes we do still have blueberry pie available, and in fact, the quality of the fruit has improved and with that, so have the pies.
Our soup this week is
Leek and Potato with a Bacon and Rainbow Peppers Relish
Dana from Garner Produce (over on Rt 3 between Lyells and Montross) gave us a sampling of their sweet pepper varieties, 6 or 7 different colors actually, and the relish is beautiful.
We have made August tuna month at Good Eats, this will be the last week for the
Grilled Tuna with Lemon Vinaigrette and Mediterranean Tapenade
before we move on in our showcase. The other specials are
Broiled Flounder topped with Buttered Backfin Crabmeat
&
Soft Shell Crabs with Lime Butter Sauce
We have a new Sauvignon Blanc available this week, the Allen Scott from Marlborough in New Zealand. This wine used to be on our list, then last year the price went up substantially so we went with other Sauv Blancs. (its that trying to make a living thing) But that needs be balanced with the being really proud of what you serve thing, and for us, with all our Chesapeake seafood, that means the Allen Scott. Give it a try, let us know what you think.
Tonight is Prime Rib night, Friday has half-price bottles of wine, Saturday we will again take reservations for groups of 4 or more (note to self if you are going to either of the 2 Annie shows with the Westmoreland Players on Saturday) and Sunday and Monday we have sandwiches and other light fare available.
