<p>Well it looks like we lucked out and dodged that Hurricane Earl; weather reports for the Northern Neck show nothing but sunny days all through the week-end. Which is great because we have a full line-up of food and wine to celebrate the end of summer. sigh.</p>
<p>Our soup this week is</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Corn and Crab Chowder.</strong></p>
<p>We continue in our tuna showcase with</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Grilled Tuna with a Preserved Lemon Aioli</strong></p>
<p>and will also feature</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Soft Shell Crabs with</strong> <strong>Lime Butter Sauce</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>&amp;</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Linguine with Shrimp in Marinated Tomatoes.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">We have four special wines available, the<em> Broadbent Vinho Verde</em> from Portugal, the <em>Urban Sauvignon Blanc</em> from Argentina&#8217;s Mendoza region, a delightful Verdejo from Spain, <em> Lasbrisas</em>, as well as the <em>Oxford Landing Cabernet Sauvignon</em> from Australia. Mondo vino indeed.</p>
<p>And for dessert its first-come, first-served till the blueberry pie is gone.</p>
<p>As announced last week we now accept reservations for groups of 4 or larger every night. Call Good Eats at 804-472-4385 to make a reservation.</p>
<p>An important note: Good Eats Cafe will be closed Labor Day and all next week in our annual catch-up-from-summer recess. We will re-open on Thursday, Sept 16 with our regular Thursday &#8211; Sunday schedule.</p>
<p><strong>Tonight</strong> is<strong> Prime Rib</strong> night, <strong>Friday</strong> features <strong>half-price bottles of wine</strong> and on <strong>Sunday</strong> we will have <strong>Henny Penny</strong> and <strong>sandwiches </strong>available in addition to our full menu.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: normal;">An important note: this coming Monday will be <strong>the last Monday</strong> that we will open this season. My apologies to all of you who have become such loyal regulars on Monday, but my life has changed again (for the better this time) and I just do not have the time available to open on Monday.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: normal;">Oh! I know how I can kind of make it up to you. We have learned enough practicing on Saturdays with reservations for groups of 4 or more, so lets just go ahead and make that the official Good Eats Cafe reservation policy every night. <p>Dana from Garner Produce (over on Rt 3 between Lyells and Montross) gave us a sampling of their sweet pepper varieties, 6 or 7 different colors actually, and the relish is beautiful.</p>
<p>We have made August tuna month at Good Eats, this will be the last week for the</p>

<p>We have a new Sauvignon Blanc available this week, the Allen Scott from Marlborough in New Zealand. This wine used to be on our list, then last year the price went up substantially so we went with other Sauv Blancs. (its that trying to make a living thing) But that needs be balanced with the being really proud of what you serve thing, and for us, with all our Chesapeake seafood, that means the Allen Scott. Give it a try, let us know what you think.</p>
